Rock Garden Brooch - Silver
This rock garden brooch was created as a memory and a small keepsake from our family holiday in Slovenia and Bohemia. During my hikes I collected some small limestones in the Soča River in Slovenia and kept them as a souvenir. Later that summer, my family and I spent a few days at our cottage in Bohemia near the Divoká Orlice River. I picked up a few stones in the river there as well. I rediscovered them in my pocket on my return and decided to use them to create a memory of a beautiful summer. I separated the stones from both rivers and set them in silver like precious stones. I added the sedum blossom in the middle to further contrast the colors of the stones. The brooch thus got its name for the way in which it is composed, like a small rock garden.
